Belize Golf Tournament Results - March 26th 2011

Thanks to everyone who participated in our monthly tournament on Saturday 26th March. We had a great turn out with 35 players. It was a beautiful HOT HOT HOT day.

Childrens Golf Lessons

The Childrens Golf Lessons are now in our 3rd week. Below is a slideshow of the kids in action. We are delighted to see the progress of their golf skills and also to see them having fun on Tuesday afternoons.

Remember it is only $5 BZD per child and lessons are every Tuesday at 4pm at the Roaring River Golf Course. We have a good mix of girls and boys.

Belize Golf Tournament - March 26th 2011

It is official Golf Tournament time. This Saturday is our points scoring tournament and we encourage all members to participate.

We have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for Gross and Net.

Plus the chance to earn points for the yearly totals.

And our unofficial Las Vegas "2" Pot. For just $5 your chance to win with a 1 or 2 on any hole.

We ask all members to email us before Thursday to confirm your entry into this Saturdays competition.

BAGA - Childrens Golf Lessons in Belize

The first Golf Clinic in Belize took place at the Roaring River Golf Course on Tuesday 8th March. This marks a great step forward for the sport of Golf in Belize as the first 9 children from the Belmopan area participated in a 1 hour golf lesson.

The lessons included instruction on how to play the game, striking the ball, putting, set up and alignment and ended with a fun putting competition.

Belize Blind Strokeplay Pairs Golf Tournament - March 12th 2011

Hello Golfers of Belize,

Saturday we introduce our newest format. Blind Stroke Play Pairs. What is that I hear you ask?

We will all play a normal 18 hole stroke play in randomly drawn groups of 3 or 4. Scorecards will be handed in as normal.

AFTER the tournament all the players names will be put into a hat and the pairs drawn out to find your pairing. Remember this is AFTER the tournament is played so you will not know your partner when you are playing.

Entrance Fee is $55.00 with $5 going to the prize pot.

There will be a first prize for the winning GROSS score and first prize for the winning NET score.

Single Handicappers will not be permitted to be partnered with other Single Handicappers. If they are drawn with each other they will have to pick again.

And of course the Las Vegas "deuce" pot is also open to anyone who fancies their chances of making a 1 or 2 on any hole. This will be an additional $5 entry.
